Time for more alphabet fun with these alphabet spinners. They focus on specific sounds and 3 letter words your child can have a go at sounding out!
Prep
Download your alphabet spinners at the bottom of this post. Print off the required pages onto card or paper. Cut around the outside of the circles and covers. Punch a hole in the centre circles and attach together with a brad.
It’s easier for adults to cut these out, but if your kids want to have a go that will give their hands a great workout.
These alphabet spinners are color but they are available in black and white in the full A-Z pack. The link is below.
For Aussie spellers
There’s a 2nd version of A at the end for axe.
How to use your alphabet spinners
Talk about the letter sounds with your kids. Read the cover sentence together pointing out the target letters. Kids spin the cards around to read the different words – well prompted by the pictures!
The large majority are 3-letter words (or 3 main sounds) to give kids the opportunity to sound out the words.
