Last week we featured a Halloween Owl and this week we’ve switched to pumpkins. Today’s art project for kids is a mixed media Pumpkin Patch painting that will add some lovely colour to your room. I especially love that it uses real pumpkin seeds… so much fun!
As an Australian I love the occasional baked pumpkin, pumpkin soup and pumpkin scones but Americans seem to go pumpkin-crazy at this time of the year, especially for pie. So I couldn’t resist creating an art idea for my US readers since I know many classrooms will have some kind of pumpkin focus between now and Thanksgiving.
The pumpkins don’t need to be traditional colours of course. Perhaps your kids would like to paint purple, blue or bright green pumpkins… the more creativity and individuality the better! My kids told me my pumpkins look like tomatoes, which I have to admit is a reasonable comment. Perhaps your kids can make suggestions as to how to make theirs look more authentic!
